Our Vision

One word: Innovation

Our Capabilities

All of our products and services are based on Internet Mapping Solutions (IMS). Simply stated, we provide applications, tools, and services that enable a variety of users to view and analyze data on a map. We intend to have fun along the way, so we sometimes develop fun map mashups in our lab or integrate existing open-source solutions such as GeoServer (http://www.geoserver.org).

We assist clients with data extraction and formatting to take advantage of web mapping APIs, such as those offered by Google™ Maps and Microsoft™ Virtual Earth. We are also early adopters of open-source Internet mapping applications. Whether you need assistance with installation of Internet mapping applications, or a full, end-to-end implemenation of a solution, we are here to help.

From serving maps to the public from your own web site, to 'spatially enabling' your enterprise database for use in an Intranet mapping solution, we can provide you with products and services that will lead to your success.

We Want to Contribute to Your Success

We are focused on delivering quality products and services that contribute to the success of our customers. CartoSoft embraces the fact that mapping solutions are becoming increasingly open and easy to use. Gone are the complex and headache-prone days of trying to view your data on a custom map. We recognize that implementation and utilization of a mapping application shouldn't be time consuming and/or expensive. Our goal is to get you up and running as soon as possible.

Our Commitment

CartoSoft is committed to providing tools and services that are secure, stable, and versatile. Our core commitment is to customer satisfaction--we take pride in our reputation and we maintain the highest professional and ethical standards possible. We aim to build positive and successful long-term relationships with our clients.

We are happy and excited to work with non-profits and other start-ups, and we provide discounts on our products and services to these types of organizations. Contact us to inquire about our discounts and other incentives for non-profits and start-ups.

We also are committed to our people and the environment. CartoSoft proactively practices socially and environmentally responsible business practices. All of our products are digital (i.e., require no paper), and we attempt to limit our use of paper and other tangible materials as much as possible.

Where CartoSoft Fits into the Geospatial Picture

In case you haven't noticed, the geospatial industry is growing and evolving at an ever increasing pace. Subsequently, access to geospatial technology has increased among a variety of users. Imagine a pyramid that represents these users.

Geospatial User Pyramid

At the top of the pyramid are 'power' users: these are professionals and experts that have access to expensive and complex geospatial products (and services) provided by large, monolithic companies. The number of users in this tier of the pyramid is relatively low.

The next tier of the pyramid is comprised of 'analytical' users: these are users that have access to geospatial products and services that may be less expensive and complex than those used by power users. However, these products and services often are provided by those geospatial monoliths. Note that there are more analytical users than power users.

The last tier of the pyramid is the public: these are users that have access to geospatial products and services that are relatively inexpensive or free. Usually these products and services are delivered via the Internet, and public users may not be aware that they are using geospatial technology (e.g., Google Maps™).

CartoSoft provides products and services geared for users in the "sweet spot" in the pyramid. We call this the sweet spot because this is the area where there is the greatest need and potential for the utilization of Internet-based mapping solutions.

Our products and services are aimed at providing users with the best of both the analytical and the public tier of the pyramid. Whether building on top of mapping APIs such as Google Maps or Virtual Earth, or leveraging open source GIS software, we can provide solutions that are both user-friendly and powerful as well as affordable.
